Influence of Contouring and Hardness of Foot Orthoses on Ratings of Perceived Comfort Does this appear to be contradictory to anyone else or am I just reading it wrong? It appears to say that a soft, flat generic orthosis was preferred. Does that sound like a "contoured" device? I know that over the years nearly every patient that I have provided an orthosis made from a volumetric cast, which I assume is more "countoured", that patients report greater comfort than with previous prefab or generic shaped devices and that is subjective. "Podiatric medicine" vs "podiatry" I've noticed that some universities offer podiatric medicine and others offer podiatry. What is the differences between the tow programs ? Just wondering what the current update is on Nail Bracing. Several of my clients do not wish to undergo nail surgery, but want relief from painful IGN or involuted nails......What is the latest research and is it effective? Iliotibial Band Syndrome and MTSS Is there any relationship between Iliotibial Band syndrome and MTSS? Is previous history of MTSS a risk factor for ITB syndrome? Another bl....y outcome measure for the foot Does anyone share my frustraton at the plethora of outcome tools that have been developed for the foot? When will it stop? When will people actually stop developing them and start doing research that actually uses them? Why are so many gifted athletes pigeon-toed? While there’s no real research clearly defining the relationship with being pigeon-toed and being a good athlete, there is quite a bit of anecdotal and indirect research evidence to support the notion. In fact, many coaches in sports like football, basketball, soccer and track actually look for pigeon-toed athletes to join their teams. This is because there seems to be a disproportionate number of fast athletes who are pigeon-toed. |
